BetterVet - A Mobile Veterinary Service

Happy Wednesday, friends! Last week we posted about our recent experience with BetterVet, a mobile veterinary service dedicated to providing a stress-free vet care experience for pets, pet parents, and vet care providers. I was excited to learn about a new type of vet experience as it is always a challenge getting all three pups to their vet at once, plus they are all on different schedules and have different needs. Knoxy gets soooo nervous going in without us! 

I will outline the whole process worked with BetterVet below: 

• First, I downloaded the BetterVet app.

• After setting up my profile, I selected from the list of available veterinarians.

• I chose a convenient time available in the app - plus, you can schedule an in-home visit any time up until 4 pm EST of the day before your desired appointment date.

• As part of the scheduling and pre-appointment process, I shared Knox, Bear, and Harper's medical records.

• I also shared their "quirks" to inform any special handling techniques needed for BetterVet's Fear Free® certified vets to employ during the in-home visit.

• On the day of our appointment, I received a text when our vets arrived.

• Both Dr. Mandeville and our vet tech spent the first few minutes giving out lots of love to the trio and chatting with us about their medical/behavioral histories.

• We then did an annual checkup with each of the three, and Dr. Mandeville examined each thoroughly, checking eyes, ears, weight, teeth, heart, lungs, etc., and discussing any problems.

• While we didn't need it, BetterVet vets can perform many procedures in-home, such as blood draws, ultrasounds, and more.

• When the appointment. was over, the pups were sad to see the BetterVet team go and made sure to give them lots of tail wags on their way out.
